Scott Garlock
Scott is Associate Professor of Music at Ashland College. He has a B.S. Ed, from Kent State University; two M.M.’s from the University of Akron and a D.M.A. from the University of Iowa. Scott has also taught at Mt. Union College and public schools for over six years and is the musical director for the Maplerock Jazz Festival. In 2000, he was given the judge’s citation from Benny Green at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival for his “positive, spirited leadership”, and will be President of the Ohio Chapter of the International
Association for Jazz Educators in July 2007. In addition to the CJO, Scott is a member of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and the Mansfield Symphony.
