Musicians of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra


Lou Pisani

Lou is a 1983 graduate of Highland High School in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. He attended Youngstown State University completing degrees in Music Education and Jazz Performance. From 1989-91, Lou toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra as splitlead and then lead trumpet. In August of 1991 he accepted a teaching position in the Cuyahoga Falls School district at Roberts Middle School. In 1997, Lou accepted the position he currently holds as middle school band director at Ingomar Middle School in the North Allegheny School District where he serves as brass coach for the marching band and directs the High School Jazz Ensemble. He has performed with many jazz greats such as Arturo Sandoval, David Sanborn, Jon Faddis, Clark Terry, Mel Torme and Louie Bellson. He has also performed with Johnny Mathis, Barry Manilow, The Four Tops, The Temptations and Aretha Franklin. He’s also played at the inauguration for both Presidents George Bush and George W. Bush.
