John English
John is a native Clevelander and graduate of St Edward High School. He received a B.M. from Kent State University and a M.M. from The University of Akron. Early professional jobs included work with Cedar Point Amusement Park and a National Tour of 42nd Street including a trip to Israel. He has played with Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Mansfield Symphony and Akron Symphony. Through the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and other groups he has worked with numerous artists such as Tony Bennet, Louis Bellson, Sarah Vaughan, Tommy Harrell, Jon Faddis, Wayne Begeron, etc. He worked commercially with people like The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Four Lads and Natalie Cole. In addition to leading the Band Special Request, he and his wife Darla currently own Special Productions, Inc. a music entertainment company based in Stow.
