Beyond the CJO

As we share stories about the members that make up the CJO, this week, we want to share some news about an album release of CJO member, guitarist Dan Bruce. Bruce, CJO bassist Aidan Plank, and guitarist Dan Lippel make up a group called Collage Project, and they recently released an album called Off Brand, which mixes classical, jazz, and other musical genres. This album also includes musical guests, including saxophonist Noa Even, drummer Nathan Douds, and CJO trombonist Chris Anderson.

For the MEGA Jazz Lover!

Are you interested in new music, new techniques, new artists? If so, then the 2021 JEN Experience might be the thing for you!

Every year, JEN (Jazz Education Network) has an annual conference. Because of COVID, this coming year, the experience will all be virtual, so no need to book a hotel or plane ticket! Dates of this event are January 6 – 9. There are events all day, every day of the conference.

Former CJO Artistic Director, Sean Jones, is president of the Jazz Education Network. AND there are some current CJO members you can catch during the conference, such as Aidan Plank, Jim Rupp, and Chris Coles (who will be sharing his project Nine Lives).

To learn more about JEN and the conference (and see about getting tickets yourself!), head to: https://jazzednet.org/
