Brett Balika
Trombone
Brett Balika is a music educator and freelance trombone player from DeKalb, Illinois. After receiving a Music Education degree from DePaul University in Chicago, he taught for two years in Illinois before moving to Cleveland. He is currently the Garfield Heights Middle School Band director and resides in Cleveland Heights. He has performed with world renowned jazz icons John Fedchock, Jiggs Whigham, Jimmy Heath, Jeff Hamilton and Phil Woods. In addition to those performers, he has also performed with the Youngstown Symphony, University Heights Symphonic Band and the DeKalb Municipal Band.
