Meet Reggie Bowens!

If you joined our MLK Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. last month, you had a chance to hear the fabulous vocal talents of Reggie Bowens. If you missed it, you’ll have another chance to hear him and the CJO later THIS month when Reggie Bowens joins us to celebrate Mardi Gras the CJO way!

Jazz and more...

Cleveland native Reggie Bowens is an accomplished arranger in the a cappella and jazz communities. He’s worked with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, and the New York Voices, to name a few. He has appeared on season three of NBC’s hit acappella television show “the Sing-Off” as a vocal bass contestant, arranger, and music director with Afro-Blue (now Traces of Blue). In 2014 and 2015, his arrangements (and performances) brought him recognition in DownBeat Magazine’s Student Music Awards.

Hometown involvement

Involved in his hometown, Reggie has been a faculty member at The Music Settlement, where he served in many capacities to help further music education in the Cleveland community. This experience led him to found his A Cappella Camp in 2013, which later appeared on Fox 8 News’ Kickin’ It With Kenny.

He’s also been involved with Tri C, the Karamu House, and the East Cleveland Community Arts and Mentorship Program.
